Currently interning as a AI and Database at Tollring, and honestly it's been more real engineering than I expected going in. Been building RAG systems from the ground up document chunking, vector databases, hybrid search, reranking and lately got handed a genuinely tough problem: make SQL Server behave like a time-series database. Ended up designing a hot/cold data tiering setup using partitioning, filegroups, and a stored procedure that splits and merges queries across a 30-day boundary, plus researched TimescaleDB as the open-source alternative. Learning a ton, breaking things, fixing them, and figuring stuff out on the fly. Final year of BTech CSE up next, excited for what's ahead.
